Geek of the Week
(An unconventionally sweet and awesome honor.)

Willy Cogdill

The pinnacle of philosophical questions-the impalpable border-the meaning of life-the chicken or the egg… ie or y…Willie or Willy.  In two weeks, ie’s flawless teaching career has been systematically deconstructed by y.  How…through engagement (a term the average man fears).  And as in most major conflicts, grammar was the instigator.  Y won a significant grammatical standoff with ie (which rattled ie a bit).  Then a part of speech error, on a vocabulary term by ie (of course corrected by y) was nearly the final blow.  Now, with ie constantly on his heels, y is looking for the knock-out punch.  Hopefully, an unconventionally sweet and awesome honor will satiate y’s desire for conflict.  Congrats on your engagement, Willy Cogdill…English Geek of the Week.

Geek of the Week
(An unconventionally sweet and awesome honor.)

Logan Lembke

If anyone needs legal assistance, I know the best lawyer in town.  On Monday, I walked under a ladder and was sentenced to one week of bad luck, UNTIL I picked up a penny (tail side up), which added a month to my sentence.  Tuesday, a black cat walked in front of me (another month of bad luck) and hastily forgot to knock on wood…I was sitt’n on about four months of hard time.  Wednesday was the worst…I broke a mirror (seven years) and seriously hurt my mother when I stepped on a crack (who knew if one stepped on two cracks at the same time they also hurt their grandmother). I was prepared to kiss my family goodbye for a while when Logan Lembke showed up.  After witnessing his first rate JAG skills in an Awakening debate, I hired him.  I don’t know if it was the clover or rabbit’s foot, or his ability to create meaningful arguments through text, but I ended up with 24 hours probation (hopefully pro bono).  Congrats Logan Lembke, English Geek of the Week.

Geek of the Week
(An unconventionally sweet and awesome honor!)

Josh Broberg

His knees are weak; palms are sweaty, thesis statements on his paper about mom’s spaghetti.  He’s nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready to drop bombs, fluency checked and ready for what he wrote down the word pompous not proud. He puts down his pen, inks all out, the clocks up, over, “A” OH WOW!  Congrats Josh Broberg for being the English Geek of the Week!
